Reception Bench - NYWS
Culminating project for third year. My class and I, as well as the third year ceramic majors, were tasked to design furniture and ceramic pieces for the North York Women's Shelter (NYWS). This bench was a solo project and I took on the immense task of designing, and fabricating, this eight foot piece myself. Each spindle is turned by hand, all 36.

Windsor Lounge
Third year seating project. This is the year I discovered my fascination for the Windsor aesthetic and vernacular. My mission was a marriage between Ming dynasty dining chair with the Windsor into a lounge chair. The most difficult part was resolving the Windsor's open and splayed parts with the upright and formal nature of the Ming dynasty chair.
Entryway Bench
Final project for linear furniture in second year. To challenge myself my goal was to create a bench that appeared dainty and fragile, but had the strength to hold two people at once. The back legs are splayed five degrees which added to the complexity of the build. Woven with black non-grain-raising (NGR) fiber rush.

Ebonized Low Stool
Second year weaving project. My first attempt at woven parts. This low stool was an experiment in CNC lathing and white oak ebonizing. Medium-closed woven cane was used for the top of the stool seat.
Japanese Ceramic Cabinet
Second year cabinetry project. The year of the strike. My love for Japanese culture, architecture and furniture were the inspiration for this ceramic cabinet. I borrowed a couple friends ceramic pieces to showcase in my end of year critique. Thank you to Zoe Pinnell, Jordan Scott, and Erin Roundsky.

Off-Balance Coffee Table
First year coffee table. Heavy inspiration from George Nakashima's incredible use of planar and spindled parts.
