My last critique of the first semester was on December 12, 2019. This is a reflection of that critique.
Firstly, I had put the majority of my time to formatting, re-wording, and compressing the main idea, of my thesis, into a succinct explanation; my physical mock ups and joinery tests were not to be seen. The path I was headed down was not the one I had fully prepared for. My thesis is the connection between the ideal and furniture; an investigation into joinery, their longevity and strength over time. I had not created the necessary joinery that I had created the presentation for and the audience was disappointed by the lack of physical development.

The two models I designed, a chair and coat rack. They share similar qualities, but the joinery in the chair is more complex and thought out. The coat rack needs some work on the joinery side of things.

I constructed a coat rack that I had designed, It was designed in tandem with the chair, but it was vaguely connected to the new joinery that I had proposed. The goal now is to redesign this coat rack with the joinery, or something that looks very similar to it. The coat rack should reflect the joinery and get stronger the more it is used. By this week I will have a new design that represents my thesis idea.
